One of the more compelling reasons to consider continuing your education at the Northwest University at Sacramento is affordability. Not only will you receive an academically excellent education here, you'll do so without negatively impacting your personal finances for many years to come.
What do we mean by affordable? The estimates below will help to give you an idea of our costs.
For a full-time student (15 credits) living off-campus the cost is $11,970.
Tuition at $399 per credit hour.
Keep in mind the above estimates are the most you will pay for your education at NU at Sacramento. Through financial aid (i.e. grants, scholarships, etc.) you may pay significantly less. Because our tuition has been so significantly reduced, NU at Sacramento doesn't offer direct scholarships. But your home church may provide them. Additional sources for scholarships include your high school, community groups, etc.
Affordability is important for more reasons than just saving money. When you graduate and are encumbered with major loan debt, it limits your options. With a lighter debt burden, graduates of NU at Sacramento are more able to pursue opportunities to follow their call to ministry where others cannot. According to CNN/Money the average student loan debt is $27,000. In many cases, the debt is significantly higher. It stands to reason: If someone has a monthly loan payment of $300 each month, there may be certain opportunities and positions that they simply can't afford to consider.
Because of our affordability, graduates of NU at Sacramento are able to obtain a quality education without taking on loans that are overly burdensome. You may have to obtain some loans (depending on your financial situation), but because of our affordability, it won't be to the same level that you'd experience at other institutions.
We encourage you to go through the application process. You may be surprised at the financial aid you qualify for. The best way to find out is to apply.
If you're a military veteran NU at Sacramento is a great place for you. Thanks to programs like the GI Bill, you may discover that there will be no out-of-pocket costs to you at all.
